Avenue at 23167 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn, Michigan.

Yesterday my daughter went to the Avenue on Michigan Avenue in Dearborn. She had several (online) returns to make but first spent two hours trying on clothes that she ultimately wanted to purchase. As it turned out, after checking all of the items against the invoice, my daughter did not have with her the correct credit card and told the lady she would come back with it. The lady was 'rude' to her in her eyeroll, manner of taking clothes back off hangers to 'shove' back into the plastic bags, and the heavy sighs. This was to the point of my daughter asking me to go back with her.

When we went back to the store, a Ashley (a very nice person) was helping us since we both saw sale items that we wanted to try on. This was a different person from the aforementioned lady who showed up after a few minutes. I'm sorry I cannot give her name as she did not offer it and she was not wearing a name tag (older white lady, shoulder length dark hair, somewhat stocky). My daughter wanted to return several online items and then use a different credit card to purchase the new items she wanted. Again this older lady was taking care of the return. When we came to scanning the credit card, the lady refused to scan it saying it was not the right card. My daughter explained that it was the right card and account...the old card was destroyed because it had been hacked and the company sent the new card and merged the account. My daughter told her if she scanned it she would see that those items were on it. Still the lady refused saying, "I don't know that." She then said she would have to see a letter...we explained that there was no letter, they just sent the replacement card and everything was done by phone. We offered to call the company and let her talk to them to verify, she refused. We offered for her to call and check and again she refused. She kept saying she would apply the new purchase to the returns or give store credit. Honestly, after a previous incident along with this one there wasn't going to be another visit to the store.

Finally, my daughter said she would apply the new purchases against the returns. The lady took the invoice and returned 5 of 9 items and then said to her, "do you want this back? There's nothing on it". My daughter said, 'yes, there are 3 dresses and a scarf on it so I do need it back.' At this point the lady mumbled something under her breath and returned the invoice.

On our way out of the store, I noticed pajamas on the rack and needed some so at the last minute we made an additional purchase of 2 pr of pajama pants. They were on sale and when I asked what the sale price would be, this same lady said "about 15 dollars". Okay. We bought them and the total was 32 dollars and change. I didn't give that a second thought based on what she told me, tax, etc. After we left the store, we decided to get on more pair for someone else. They were all the same...and that total was 14 dollars and change. So I looked at the receipt for the 2pr we had just purchased since they should only have been 28 dollars (and change) and noticed that while she took off the sale money of 5.98 for one pair of bottoms, she only took off 3 dollars for the other pair. After this was brought to her attention, she refunded 2.98 to my credit card. I would never have realized if I hadn't gone back for the third pair and I'm wondering how many people this has happened to.
